I noticed the article you send suggests I could be trying to cheat - I really am not. I recently had some trouble with my ethernet adapter driver for my dell docking station, and I have updated the drivers recently. I'll try again when I am back to usbc hub #3 which is a non-dell ethernet hub - perhaps that is the hub I need to get the license to be recognized. I won't be at that location for a week - and I don't need to the app to run this week - so I will stop tinkering for now unless you have another idea.
Have you disabled a network before? I mean you have to connect the ethernet adapter to each usb-c ports until success. Let's try to activate using the Offline License Management instead of the Online License Management. Please activate your key using the Offline License Management -- Send the Offline License Request XML file to @. And I will respond with the Offline License Respond XML file.
Hi - I just wanted to report that my problem seems to be solved. I came back to my apartment with the original USBC ethernet adapter and I was able to activate > deactivate > activate and I haven't seen the issue with auto-deactivation or the Error 28 issue since I have been here. The worry I have is if I ever change the USB Ethernet Hub or upgrade it I am concerned I will get the Error 28 issue again. But for now, its fine. Thanks for trying to help. This is the adapter - it seems if this is missing the Error 28 issue occurs. Since this is a USBC hub it is not always present on my system.
Well - I am going to get a new USBC ethernet hub soon. So that means my serial number will most likely fail. I will deactivate the serial when I receive the hub. I will then reboot, connect the new hub, and cross my fingers. I believe, though, that your security code will flag again and give me a Error 28. Unless you know a better procedure than the above, I will proceed and let you know in a week or so
Hi, HiroMike, One recommendation is: Before rebooting, uninstall device driver for the old ethernet. That is, in Device Manager, select the ASIX ethernet, right-click and then click "Uninstall device" on the menu. By the way, is the ASIX ethernet adapter built in the hub? If it is built-in, the above uninstalling will be enough. However, if it is just a USBC ethernet dongle, I think you need to repeat uninstalling the device by plugging it in each ports of your hub. Thank you.
Hi! Thanks for the tips, I will try this method. The ethernet adapter is built in to the usbc hub - it has hdmi, usbc 3, etc along with ethernet. So - would the process be: With ethernet dongle connected, deactivate Once deactivated, remove device from device manager reboot connect new usbc ethernet hub try to activate license
With ethernet dongle connected, deactivate Once deactivated, remove device from device manager and detach the old hub from pc. reboot connect new usbc ethernet hub try to activate license Hope it helps. Thanks
