    Hi there

I am trying to install the trial version on my laptop running Windows 7 Professional. Everything starts properly but then I get this error message:

"The installer was interrupted before Across could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again".

I have tried running the installer in administrator mode - no difference.

I have no problems installing all sorts of other software on this laptop.

    Any advice gratefully received!

    Kind regards

    Ben

    Hello Ben,

Please try to install after removing "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable" in the "Program and Features" of the "Control Panel".

I'm having the same problem in Windows 10.
Removing the VC++ redistributable did not help.

    Hi Armin,

I think Win10 may include the "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable" by default. So there is NO "Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable" in the "Programs and Features" in Win10. I didn't mean other versions of redistributable (e.g. 2005, 2008). By the way, it could be in Win7.

What version are you trying to install between English and Multi-Lingual? Please try to install using the other version.

I have this problem with both the Multilingual and English versions of the installer.
I did have the VC++ 2013 Redistributable in my Win10 Programs & Features list.

    Hi Seungjin

I have tried this and unfortunately nothing changed - I get exactly the same error when trying to install.

    Any other ideas very welcome.

    Kind regards

    Ben

By the way, I should have mentioned that I have 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2015 versions of Microsoft Visual C++ as well.

    Kind regards

    Ben

    Hi Ben,

Please refer to the #6 and #9 replies. Across is built by Visual Studio 2013 and then only the "Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable" is needed. Other versions of redistribuable (2005, 2008, etc) are not related with Across at all.

OK thanks. Would I be right in assuming that since you asked me to remove 2013, the Across installer re-installs it?

I've looked at the links and to be honest it all looks a bit beyond me at this stage so sadly I will have to give up.

You're right. Across Installer will install it. If not, you can manually install it in this site: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=40784

If Armin would fix this issue, I'll leave the solution for Armin.

Please try to install manually the VC++ 2013 Redistributable and let me know whether you succeed.

The solution in that superuser post did not work for me. But that sounds like a different issue anyways. I'm only having this problem with the Across installer. Other MSI installers work fine for me.
Manually installing the VC++ 2013 redist works fine.
