Just installed beta3 on both systems. Interesting tidbit - the Mac app doesn't show my PC: But it's just working automatically.
There was a bug in the v2.beta1&2 in upgrading from the v1.x. Now the v2.beta3 upgrades the v1.x correctly but influences upgrade from the corrupted previous config file for the previous v2.beta versions, and so your case occurs. Please remove Bluetooth pairing from both computers and pair them again.
There were some more bugs in the original release. Though the above linked files have the same name, their contents were changed. So please download them again and reinstall Across. Sorry about that. Both v1.40 and v2.beta3 were changed.
